Before you sign, check the contractor's registration, bond and any citations with L&I's Verify a Contractor tool or at 1-800-647-0982, ask for proof of insurance, and make sure a licensed plumbing contractor handles any sump connection to a drain, backwater valve or side sewer work under the proper permit.
